Staresinic Raymond G.
On Saturday, September 25, 2021, age 89, of Shaler. Born in 1932 to the late George and Mary Staresinic. Ray grew up in Lawrenceville and was a proud graduate of Central Catholic High School and the University of Pittsburgh. He served honorably in the Army during the Korean War era. He was employed for many years by the State of Pennsylvania Bureau of Employment Security then greatly enjoyed his retirement with his family and all of his favorite Pittsburgh Sports Teams. He most enjoyed sharing his tremendous recollection of people and stories with others. He was a lifetime member of the American Slovenian Catholic Union, KSKJ Lodge 50, and was proud of his Slovenian heritage. Ray was a long-time Parishioner and volunteer at St. Ann/Holy Spirit, now St. Matthew Parish. His favorite "penance" was the Wednesday night bingo, which he ran for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joseph, sister Elizabeth Lautar, nephew James, his brothers and sisters-in-law, and many beloved relatives and friends. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ruth (Gerdun) Staresinic, sons Kenneth (Maria) of Valencia, Stephen (Monika) Stuttgart, Germany, and Gregory (Barbara) of Gibsonia, grandchildren Claire, Allison, Anna, Tara, and Robert. Ray's life will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial Friday 11 AM St. Matthew Parish, Holy Spirit Church. There will be no visitation. Burial will follow at Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery, Arrangements by Hahn FH & Cremation Services Inc.
