Percy was grateful to her friend, Mel who was always there for her. If you were looking for Percy, you would no doubt have found her with her family. A love of hers was to travel. She spent each summer on Kelso Beach in Erie and took the opportunity when it arose to travel to her favorite destination, Aruba. Percy had a beautiful spirit that lit up the room where she was drawn to the individual who needed an ear to listen. She had a gift to make everybody feel like a somebody. She listened intently and loved unconditionally. During her years of working as a bartender at the Blue Note Bar in the Southside; it would be custom for her to invite those to her Thanksgiving table who did not have a place to go. If you knew Percy, if you had the opportunity to have a brief conversation with her, if you were lucky enough to have your paths crossed; you were blessed beyond measure and a better person because of meeting her. In lieu of a memorial service, her family would love nothing more than you to stop for a moment, look around, smile at life, laugh, and raise a glass to celebrate Percy’s beautiful life and to always live life to the fullest like she did. A celebration of Percy’s life will be held at a later date.
