Mary V. Bauer

Mary Virginia “Mary Gin” Bauer, age 86, of Ross Township, died on August 28, 2025. She was the mother of Vanessa A. Bauer, Denise M. (Robert) Shaffer, and William J. Bauer, and former spouse of the late Fred W. "Bill" Bauer. Mary Gin was the sister of James Moran (Gretchen) and the late Thomas Moran (Kathy), and the aunt of Sean and Tom Moran. She birthed a child with autism and fought tirelessly to make a place for her daughter in a world that was, and continues to be, ignorant and unacceptable of those who are different. She worked extremely hard to help support her family, holding two jobs simultaneously. She made Halloween an event: treating her children to dinner at McDonald’s; trick-or-treating in every Breezewood neighborhood; ending at grandmas’ houses; and filling their pillowcases to the seams with candy. She loved the snow and taking long walks in it with her children. Peace, Mom. Vanessa, Denise, and Bill. No visitations.
