Margaret Braun Obituary

Hi Doo!” was her infamous greeting when she said Hello.  Her infectious laughter and contagious smile along with her kind heart and welcoming demeanor made her loved by so many.  Known as “Tootie” or “Toots”, she grew up in Millvale PA and was a graduate of Millvale High School (class of 1946).  She loved her hometown and taught her grandkids the Millvale High school cheer.  She loved playing and watching golf, her bowling league, playing cards (especially poker) and attending the Friday night high school football games where she cheered on the North Hills football team and the marching band!

Tootie passed peacefully in her home on Sunday, June 27th. She is preceded in death by her husband William R. Braun (1926-1986), her parents, Joseph and Mathilda Randig, a brother Regis (Rudy) Randig, her granddaughter Jillian Richey (1984-1993) and a niece Christine Kuntz (1957-1978).  She is survived by her large loving family including: a sister, Erma Randig Kuntz and her children William R. (Carita) Braun, Jr;  Patricia (Gary) Valkavitch, Susan (Charles) Richey, James (Robin) Braun,  and Elizabeth (Ron) Koss, Jr.  Tootie has 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was the Matriarch of our family and the strongest person we all knew.  She was an impeccable woman and a true Angel of God here on earth.  She always made everyone feel welcomed in her life and home.  She opened her doors to anyone whoever needed anything and was always willing to give her time when needed.  Tootie was a person of great faith and volunteered her time at numerous church functions and 25 years at Ross/West View EMSA.  She enjoyed her family most when everyone was together at family gatherings and our annual trips to Holden Beach where she could ride the waves.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 12-8pm at the Hahn Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 123 North Avenue Millvale, Pa 15209.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, 10am at St. Matthew Parish formerly St Anthony’s/Holy Spirit, Millvale.  Interment to follow.  In leiu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to Ross/West View EMSA.  http://www.rwvems.org
