After a brief illness, John passed away from cancer on April 10. He had great support of family and friends and many known and unknown prayer warriors during his battle. John is survived by his wife of 40 years Margie Lee O'Leary, son and best friend David O'Leary, special daughter in law Sandra Alhaj MD and mother in law Kathleen Lee. He was predeceased by his parents Ann and David O'Leary , father in law Robert Lee MD, and sister in law Maria Lee. His siblings are Jeanne Nedwidek (Frank), Barbara Burton (Mark), Dave (Patty), Frank (Kelly Hardon), and Ann McLeod. Brother-in-law to Bob, Kevin(Karen Richeson), Tom (Patti), and Brian Lee. He had many nieces, nephews, and friends who provided love and great humor to him. Friends received Monday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Hahn FH & Cremation Services Inc., 123 North Avenue, Millvale. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, 11 AM Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Boniface Church,2208 East St., Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Everyone, please meet at the Church. John found great enjoyment in bike riding, music, his contracting work, Liverpool F.C., the Pirates, and the Steelers. He also loved to travel. He was especially kind and helpful to strangers. Please, no flowers. The family asks that donations go to the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank, 1 N Linden St, Duquesne, PA. 15110. (or to your local food bank ). John also requests that you vote in the primary and general elections every year. Special thanks to the staff of Shadyside Hillman Cancer Center, 2nd floor, and the hospital staff on 6 West, 5 Main, and the Emergency Dept.
