On Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at age 92, Dorothy Ann Labas passed away peacefully. She was born on September 1, 1930 to the late George and Evelyn (Smith) Kirk in Beaver, Pennsylvania, where she spent her childhood. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Leonard P. Labas for 64 years. She is survived by her four children; Dan (Pam) Labas, Ruth (late, Dennis) Miller, James (Jan) Labas, and Karen (late, Gregg) Plakosh, Proud Grandma of Jacob Labas, Lori (Jerry) Mascara, Brian (Alyssa) Miller, Zak (Amy) Labas, Ellie Labas, Sam (Tiffany) Labas, Luke Labas, and Natalie (JB) Glover. Adoring Great-Grandmother of Dawson Mascara, Lincoln Labas, Emma Labas, Aubrey Mascara, and Ada Labas. Sister of the late Eugene Kirk Jr. Also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends. Dorothy was the most devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a remarkable matriarch of her family. She cared deeply for her family, friends, and neighbors and had the most generous heart. She was wonderfully gifted with Godly wisdom and taught us that Jesus loves everyone. Dorothy regularly kept in touch with loved ones by writing cards and letters. She always said to share a cup of kindness with someone. She loved to journal and scrapbook and thoughtfully cut out newspaper comics & articles to share with others. She had a passion for history and spent many years researching her family’s genealogy back to the Revolutionary War. Dorothy had a great love for dogs and rescued many over her lifetime. She was a true Pittsburgher, a loyal Steeler Fan and loved Frank Sinatra. Her home was always full of family and friends any time of year. Dorothy was truly a woman of beauty and grace, inside and out, and will be incredibly missed by all. No visitation. Services private.
