On Wednesday, November 24, 2021, age 88, of Shaler Twp, Beloved husband of Carol (Hischemellor) Weldy. Adoring Father of Dr. Susan (Rev. Bruce) Stollings. Phi Beta Kappa high honors graduate, Pitt 1955: beginning at age 7, a performer at KDKA 1941-46: Son of Phillip Weldy, Clarinetist, Pittsburgh Symphony, and Lottie Lawson Weldy, a WCAE and KDKA radio performer in 1930's with sister Mildred (The Lawson Sisters). He served in the Navy aboard the submarine tender USS Nereus, 1955-57. At SAE, and later his own corporation Expo Planning Inc., he developed and managed industrial expositions and conferences for international trade associations and professional societies throughout the US, Europe, Mid- and Far East for 50 years. A lifelong member of First United Church of Christ, Millvale. He served on Church Council, as Sunday School Superintendent, Choir Member, and teacher. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, December 5, 2021, at 2 PM at the First United Church of Christ, 425 North Avenue, Millvale. The family will greet those attending the service at 1 PM at the church. Donations may be made to the Church. Art said that he had been all over the world and met the rich and famous, but his heart remained in his little church in Millvale.
